Whirlwind Weekend

Don't you hate it when your weekend is SO busy that you need a few days off to recover?

Yup, that was my weekend.

We got started right away too - on Friday night, I left work a few minutes early to take my ballerina to dress rehearsal for Saturday's dance recital.  She was a tad excited:

Saturday morning my alarm went off at 6:30am - I had a 3 miler on my schedule and doing it early that day was the only way it was going to get done.  In retrospect it was a good thing I got up that early because the heat later on that day would've made even that short of a run just terrible.  After a quick shower and a bagel I took my dancer to the school to get her ready for the show.  Her first dance wasn't until the 13th one in so I had Owen bring Morgan a little after the show started because I knew sitting there she would get bored.  Another good move because there had been a power surge at the school that morning and the air conditioner was off - LOVELY.
Show time!

I do have to say that I was incredibly proud of Morgan - she was so well behaved for an 18 month old!  And each time Samantha's class was on stage Morgan would proudly cheer "Manta" and clap her hands - she's so proud of her big sister!
Flowers for a job well done!  And yes, she has one of them in hair hair.  Don't ask...

A post-show celebration lunch was in order and the ballerina girl chose Red Robin, so we headed over there around 1pm.  I typically don't like the late start time for her recitals but it does help us miss the Saturday lunch rush, we got seats and food very quickly.
"Mom, I want this cheeseburger right here"

"Yup, this is good stuff"

On a side note, I tried their Southwestern Chicken salad and it was excellent.

Later that afternoon I was craving a cupcake - I know, real shocker there - and decided to visit Muddy's Bakeshop since we hadn't been there in a hot minute.  It was Morgan's first visit!  She picked out a frosted sugar cookie and they put it in a bag for her and she would NOT let it go.
"Don't touch my cookie, lady"

Suffice to say we all slept really good Saturday night.  BUT, we weren't quite done yet.

Sunday morning we got up and out early because Samantha had her final soccer game of the season and her post-season party that afternoon and I HAD to go grocery shopping before hand so off we went.  The temperature was a bit toasty by the time the game got started:
Samantha traded in her ballet shoes for soccer cleats

A #momfail of epic proportions - I forgot sunscreen.  Not that big a deal to me but Morgan's arms are PINK.  Poor baby :(  After the game (they won!) we were off to her teammates house for an excellent post-season party, complete with hamburgers and hot dogs and more playing.  I think both kids ran themselves silly; they really had a great time.

After a light dinner we all crashed.  Alas, no, the laundry fairy did not visit us this weekend so I still have piles of it in my laundry room but that's ok - we had a great time :)

QOTD:  How many loads of laundry do you do each day?  I honestly try to do one a day so it doesn't get out of hand.

  1. Sounds like an amazing weekend! So busy and so much fun!

I feel like laundry is endless. I think I am at a point where I can do a load every other day, although sometimes it feels like more.

    1. I swear this stuff multiplies!!! I skip one day and end up with 4 loads of laundry; how does that work??
