PbRC and the Biggest Loser Challenge

I mentioned a few posts back that I belonged to a running group on Facebook called the Pacebook Running Club (PbRC).

This is a really great group of people that I have gotten to know since I joined up almost a year ago - they are a great motivation and a good source of knowledge for all things running.  I even got the opportunity to meet some of these folks at Marathon Weekend in January - it was so neat putting faces to names of people I had talked to over the months!

Back in January the group started our own version of the Biggest Loser - each entry to the contest cost $20, which is all going into a pot that will be awarded to the winner.  With over 100 participants, you can do the math - the prize is going to be well worth the efforts!  I'm really enjoying the challenge so far - it's nice to have people to commiserate with over not being able to eat cupcakes (you guys know how much I LOVE those things...)

I am pleased to report that I have lost 6.5 pounds as of our last weigh in - that's a 3.72% weight loss!  Not enough to put me at the top of the leaderboard, especially after last week's unexpected trip (I guess in the South it's mandatory to take fried chicken when someone dies because I have NEVER seen so much fried chicken in my life...just sayin), but I am back on track and trying to undo the damage in time for this week's weigh-in!  We are over halfway through the challenge and watching the real Biggest Loser show on TV has really inspired me, especially Danni - LOVE this girl!!!  And she made the finals!!!

And lastly, I told you guys yesterday I was introducing some new things to the blog so here is one of them:  Question of the Day (QOTD)!

QOTD:  Are you participating in a weight loss challenge?  Share with me in the comments!
