Weight Loss Update

I know it's been awhile since I published an update on my weight loss goal - 3 months to be exact - and since we're about 4 months out from our vacay (!!!!!) - which is my deadline - I figured it's time to hold myself accountable!!!

I am actually very proud to report that I have lost 25lb since the beginning of the year.  I have to admit that I owe all of that to running and My Fitness Pal that helps me count my calories.  I still have about 20lb to go to get to my goal and at the rate I'm going I am pretty confident that I can hit that by vacation. 

I know it's not all about the number on the scale so I also am pleased to report I have gone down about 2 pant sizes since January.  It's a good feeling to have to go shopping in your closet for those jeans you thought you'd never wear again :)  Of course, that is dependent on brand and how old they are (hence how many times they've been washed) so sometimes my size varies which is why I still weigh myself weekly so I can see my progress.

I have been asked about my training schedule so here's a quick run down of how I exercise each week:

Monday - walk or cross-train - I try to vary this up a bit.  Sometimes I'll ride my bike or do an exercise video with strength training.
Tuesday - run 30 minutes (more or less dependent on the training schedule)
Wednesday - walk or cross-train
Thursday - run 30 minutes
Friday - walk or cross-train
Saturday - off
Sunday - long run (schedule dependent).  Yesterday was 4 miles, which I completed in 46:43!

I got my early mother's day gift this past weekend to use during my runs/bike rides/walks - a  Garmin GPS watch!  I have only used it once but I absolutely LOVE it.  I had been using my phone with a GPS app but this is MUCH more convenient. 

So there you have it!  I hope my next report brings me even closer to my goal!!!
