I Did It!

Couch 2 5K is in the books!!!


It is such an exhilarating feeling to reach a goal you have set for yourself!!!  Finishing this program has only motivated me to keep going further - see just how far I can go!

Monday I am starting a 10K training program.  This time, I am going with Jeff Galloway's training program.  It was a bit longer than the Bridge to 10K training and it has shorter runs during the week and then a long run on the weekend, which will work better for our schedule at home.  Here's a glimpse:


I'll be honest - I haven't actually been measuring how far I've been running all this time, just running the time allotted that day.  With this program I will have to start measuring.   Ultimately, I would like to buy a nice GPS watch like the one made by Garmin - but, since money doesn't grow on trees, I needed to find something to use in the meantime - and came across this app for my phone:


This is called Map My Run and I cannot wait to start using it!  It will track how far I go and even tell me the pace I am running at, which will be good as I begin going further distances.  My goal is to run an 11 minute mile; I guess I'll find out next weekend how close to that I already am!
