The Most Magical Place on Earth

Now that I'm back at work I can begin the process of counting down the days until our next family vacation :)

I can NOT wait until September - because that means it will be time for the Smith family to pack up and head back to Disney World!!!!  Our trip is already booked.  We will fly out Sunday, September 2nd and return Saturday, September 8th.  And for those of you that know me and know how OCD I am, you will find it no surprise that I already have each day of the trip planned :)

I hope you don't mind if I share our plans with you today!  Of course, these are all tentative and could change based on scheduling once Disney releases it for the days we'll be there.  I have based my tentative plans on the schedule for these days this past year.  It could also change based on wether or not I get my first picks when I make our Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs), which I cannot do until March 6th (180 days before the first day of our trip).  But here's what I have planned thus far!

Day 1:  Travel day.  We will swim at the resort if we get an early enough flight (I'm hoping for direct this time!!).  Dinner @ Ohana's (we ate breakfast here last time and I've heard the dinner is just as delicious!), followed by watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach at our resort.

This trip we are staying at Disney's Polynesian Resort; isn't it beautiful??!!

Day 2:  This is Labor Day and I'm not stupid enough to spend it in a park, so we are planning to start the day with breakfast at Chef Mickey's (at the Contemporary Resort so all we have to do to get there is hop on the monorail, which comes to our resort!) followed by a day of fun by the pool.  On our last trip it was too chilly really to swim and I've heard that the Polynesian has THE most awesome pool, so I thought we could make some time to relax and swim.  They also have poolside private cabanas you can rent, and I plan to do that so that we will have a place to eat lunch and for Morgan to rest without having to go back to the room.  That afternoon we will head over to Epcot - there is not much for the little ones at Epcot, so we decided not to spend a whole day there.  We will probably eat dinner at one of the country pavilions and then stay for the awesome fireworks, which Samantha will love I'm sure - not sure about Morgan, that's if she's even still awake :)

Day 3:  We're off to Hollywood Studios!  First stop - breakfast at Hollywood 'n Vine.  We ate lunch here last time with the Disney Junior characters and Samantha enjoyed it.  On our last trip I was sick the day we had planned at HS and it was raining cats and dogs so we didn't really do much here, so I'm hoping to enjoy it in its entirety this trip!  We will pick up lunch here also and then we will either A - catch dinner and Fantasmic (if it's showing that day), or B - head back to our resort for the Aloha Dinner, which I think the family would enjoy just as well.

Day 4:  The first of two days in the Magic Kingdom.  There is just too much to do there to get it all done in one day.  Plus, we are looking forward to seeing the renovations they have made to Fantasyland since our last visit!  We will start with breakfast at the castle (a MUST do, especially after doing it our last trip!  Samantha keeps telling me she wants to eat a "cimmanin roll" at the castle with the princesses again!), and pick up a quick lunch while in the park and catch the daily parade at 3pm.  For dinner, I am planning on returning to 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian resort, UNLESS the new Be Our Guest restaurant in Fantasyland is open, and then we would go there instead, followed by the evening parade and fireworks, or watching a movie on the beach at our resort (they show one every night; neat huh???)

Day 5:  Back to the Magic Kingdom we go!  First stop will be breakfast at the Crystal Palace (we ate lunch there last time but I hear breakfast is good).  Before I go on I gotta tell you why we're doing all these character breakfasts:  A - Samantha LOVED this our last trip, and it's your only guaranteed chance to see the characters, and B - if you schedule it before the park opens, you are already inside the park when it opens and ahead of the crowd!!  It's a win win.  We will not need the whole day to finish the Magic Kingdom so I am hoping to get out of there around mid day and take Samantha to the Bippity Boppity Boutique for a little pampering before we head to Downtown Disney for the evening.  I'm planning dinner at T-Rex.  The food there was awesome and the even better part is that they were added to the Disney dining plan this year!  Woohoo!  After dinner I'm hoping we can head back to the Magic Kingdom for the evening parade and fireworks if we didn't catch it the night before.

Day 6:  Last full day at Disney :(  We'll be spending it at the Animal Kingdom!  Again, last trip it rained on our day here so we didn't get to truly enjoy this park.  We're starting with breakfast at Tusker House (a MUST do after we enjoyed it our last trip).  The sad part is that Animal Kingdom closes early but hey - we will have the evening before we leave open to try to squeeze in anything we didn't get to do before hand, or maybe even venture and do something new, like visit the Boardwalk area.

Day 7:  Breakfast at Ohana's before we fly out.  Hopefully we can get a mid-afternoon flight home.

Day 8:  Laundry day, I'm sure!!!

Doesn't this sound like fun??  We're going to have a blast, I cannot wait!!!!!  232 days and counting!!!
