I decided that there was no better time than the present to restart the Couch 2 5K (C25K) program. 

Yesterday I completed Week 1 Day 1 (W1D1) and surprisingly I didn't pass out on the sidewalk!!  Granted, I am in considerably less shape than I was when I did this program the first time back in 2010, but given that it's been over a year since I participated regularly in an exercise program, I was pleased that I managed to complete it.  I haven't sweated like that in a LONG time, it felt great!  And running is like riding a bike - as soon as I got out there, I remembered what I enjoyed about running and had a great time. 

I am hoping that I will be ready to run a 5K by April; I still haven't picked out a race yet but I realize that to keep myself motivated I need to set goal races to complete in order to work my way up to my ULTIMATE goal - the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February 2013!

What could be better than going to the most magical place on Earth to do something that is not only fun but keeps you healthy?? 

When we went to Disney World in March 2010 we arrived the day after this race and I remember seeing women walking around in the parks proudly displaying their finishers medals.  That WILL be me next year!!!

Not to mention that by running I hope to meet my weight loss goal of being back at my "Disney weight" when we return to Disney this September (I'm planning a post later on this week on that trip; SO excited!!!).  Speaking of my weight loss goal, I am pleased to report that I have dropped another pound!!!  I officially have 9lb of baby weight left and I ready to say goodbye to it!!!

Anyone else out there a runner?  Or perhaps I can motivate you to join me?? :)

  1. I love the couch to 5k app! It's great. And if I'm ever going to do a 1/2, it's going to be the Disney one. You can do it!!!
