38 Weeks

So I've managed to squeeze in at least one more post - yay me!!!

I went back to the doctor today so I've got exciting news for this week's pregnancy update!  Without further adieu...

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  31lb - my goal was to not gain more than I did with Samantha, which was a whopping 47lb.  I think I will succeed :)

Maternity Clothes:  Yes!  These days I'm wearing more of Clara's clothes than my own (don't worry, I'm taking good care of them!)

Gender:  Another beautiful baby girl!!!  Miss Morgan Elizabeth

Movement:   OH yeah, although sometimes I wonder how she's managing - it's gotta be getting tight in there!

Sleep:  I have officially given up on sleeping through the night until Morgan is several months old.  It just never fails - between 1:30am and 4am I WILL be up for a bathroom break.  It's inevitable.

What I Miss:  Being able to bend over and pick things up with ease...

Symptoms:  My newest symptom is Braxton Hicks contractions!  I'll just be sitting here minding my own business when all of a sudden I feel my stomach tighten up.  It doesn't hurt, but it's definitely noticeable.  I try to make sure I'm staying hydrated because I know dehydration can bring these on.  I did not have these with Samantha so this is new to me and kinda weird feeling - they literally take my breath away, even though they don't hurt.  But I guess each pregnancy is different, right?

Progress:  As of this morning, Morgan is still at a -3 station.  AND - I have started dilating!  EEEK!  I was 1cm dilated today.  Now, I could stay this way until next Wednesday and by all means, that's what we're hoping for!  But, just in case this is the beginning, I plan to take it easy until we can at least get Samantha's tonsils out.

Best Moment(s) the past two weeks:   Getting our c-section date - next Wednesday it is, little one, I hope you're ready!!!

Worst Moment the past two weeks:   We have entered the two week period that Owen is fondly referring to as "chaos" - we had Samantha's party this past weekend and now her surgery is in two days, and mine is 6 days after that.  Trying to keep my stress down has proven to be a challenge!  Again, like I said - I need a clone!

Favorite Husband Moment:  This one actually came today, when I called him to tell him I was 1cm dilated (he couldn't meet me for my appointment today).  His exact words were - "Guess I know who'll be sitting in the recliner taking it easy for a few days".  hehehe

I came to the hard realization the other day that in 8 days I will be holding our baby.  The journey to bringing her into this world has been a very long, trying, disappointing, sad, and then also rewarding and joyful road.  I just told Owen this morning that she has got to be THE most prayed for baby out there, and I cannot wait until we can hold her and welcome her into our family.  I thank each and everyone of you reading this for all your love, prayers, and support you've given us on this road to becoming a family of 4.  We love each of you very much!!!
