36 Weeks

Well, here we are!  36 weeks, only a few short weeks left.  I'll be flat honest - I am really starting to stress out about everything that needs to be done before Morgan is born.  I've had a few people offer their assistance and I can't even begin to tell you how much that is appreciated.  My mother is coming over Saturday to help me knock out more on the to do list - I'm optimistic that we can get a lot accomplished!

I've added a new line to my pregnancy update - I am now going to the doctor weekly and at this week's visit, we had our first "check" for progress!  So read on if you're curious to know how we're doing :)

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  30lb - my goal was to not gain more than I did with Samantha, which was a whopping 47lb.  I think I will succeed :)

Maternity Clothes:  Yes!  These days I'm wearing more of Clara's clothes than my own (don't worry, I'm taking good care of them!)

Gender:  Another beautiful baby girl!!!  Miss Morgan Elizabeth

Movement:   OH yeah, although sometimes I wonder how she's managing - it's gotta be getting tight in there!

Sleep:  I have officially given up on sleeping through the night until Morgan is several months old.  It just never fails - between 1:30am and 4am I WILL be up for a bathroom break.  It's inevitable.

What I Miss:  Being able to bend over and pick things up with ease...

Symptoms:  Here lately I'm having them all - back pain, sciatica, heartburn, swollen name it.  Not that I'm complaining.  My blood pressure was also up the other day - 150/90 - erp!  That's pretty high - the highest I can ever recall my blood pressure getting, so needless to say, I was sent home to rest.  I used my time wisely and caught up on all of this season's episodes of The Good Wife :)

Progress:  As of Tuesday, Morgan is at a -3 station.  Labor station refers to the baby's position in relation to the pelvis.  -3 means that her head is just at the top of my ischial spine (aka sit bones).  I am not dilated at all but I am 60% effaced, which refers to the thinning of the cervix that occurs before dilation and labor begins.  Considering I am still 36 weeks I thought this was progress but my doctor's quote was:  "Not much going on down there."  I guess all things considered, he's right.  Guess we'll see next week!

Best Moment(s) the past two weeks:  There's a little boy in Samantha's preschool class that every day, without fail, asks me if I have a baby in my tummy.  He cracks me up.  I can't wait until the day I can tell him, no, I don't!!!

Worst Moment the past two weeks:   Poor Morgan, mommy's stress is taking it's toll on her!!!  If you read this post, you'll know why I'm so stressed out.  Plus, we found out Tuesday Samantha needs to have two cavities filled soon, and Sunnie is due for her checkup at the vet.  I really just need a clone.

Favorite Husband Moment:  Owen and Sam got me a plant at Lowe's the other day.  It's really pretty - I hope I can keep it alive ;)

I hope to title my next post "Morgan's Eviction Date" - my doctor should be calling me any day with the confirmed c-section date!!!  I'll keep you guys posted!!!
