I Need a Vacation

Ok, I'm starting to feel a little burned out.

Between work, and still dealing with the aftermath of our last miscarriage, my mental health is on the line here.

Our last vacation was a year ago - the Disney trip.  I would give ANYTHING to be able to go back this year but we've made the final decision to wait until next year to go back, so we can save up the money to go all out like we want to.  Plus, we're hoping that MAYBE, just MAYBE I will need to save my vacation time for an extended absence by the end of the year.....????

Thankfully - my sister and her husband have GRACIOUSLY invited Owen and I to go on a trip with them to Branson for a few days the first week of May.  This will be an adults only trip.  Don't get me wrong - I love Samantha with ALL that I am, but sometimes - mommies and daddies need a break.  It helps make us better parents :)  My BIL's parents have a timeshare so we will be staying at the Falls Village resort in Branson (no charge to us!!!).  Take a look at this:

Looks inviting, doesn't it??  How about this one:

OH yeah.  Branson is located in the Ozark Mountains; this view is breathtaking!!!!!

Branson is known for it's seemingly endless supply of live shows, but to be honest - I'm not into that stuff.  And we are for SURE not going to the Dixie Stampede, my sister has made that very clear!!!  I think she and I might go to a spa one day while the guys rent a boat and play on the lake, and we will probably try to take a trip to Silver Dollar City one day as well.  But I would really just be happy eating some good food and hanging out by the nice looking pool, reading a good book, NOT being at work!!!

Any of you been to Branson?  This will be our first trip; feel free to leave me some suggestions!!!

  1. I've never been to Branson. I can't wait to see pictures. It sounds like it's going to be a great time. I also need to email you.

  2. We just returned from Branson. Of coure it was a family trip, so we did a lot of family friendly stuff. Branson reminds me a lot of Pigeon Forge in terms of all it has to offer. We did haunted houses, a dinosaur museum, indoor water parks, dixie stampede(the boys loved it), Ripley believe it or not, hollywood wax mueum, miniature golf, go karts etc. All family stuff is on the strip. Theyu also have zip lines, spas, and gorgeous drives thru the ozark mountains. Just beware, the drive to Branso is long and WINDING! And the traffic gets pretty congested. But we had a BLAST!!

  3. We went a few years ago with my whole family, and it was pretty fun! We went to Siver Dollar City, it's beautiful! Right in the middle of the mountains and so super fun roller coasters!

  4. Lived in the south my whole, and I have never been to Branson. :/ It definitely looks like you and Owen will get a nice respite from "normal" life -- I know you will enjoy it!
