Date Night!

Those of you that have children know that this is a hot commodity, so when my in-laws asked if they could keep Samantha tonight, I was not about to turn them down...

Don't get me wrong, I love Samantha with all my being, but sometimes even the best parents need a break.  It just makes them even BETTER parents.  PLUS, Samantha LOVES going to Nona and Papa's house.  When she woke up this morning she told me she was ready to go to her slumber party, so she could "watch Beauty and the Beast and eat ice cream."  That's some slumber party.

So, our date night will start with dinner at Firebirds.  We don't really go there that often, but I have a gift card and am not about to let it to to waste.

The last time I went there was for a work lunch and the girl sitting next to me ordered the Turkey Club, which I wasn't interested in at the time because I was trying to be good and watch what I ate but it really sounds delicious today:  "JalapeƱo corn bread, roasted red pepper mayo, cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato" -- Leave of the mayo and cheese and I'm sold.  I'm hoping that I can order this even though it's on the lunch menu and we will be going for dinner.  If this has peaked your interest, check our Firebirds here.

We will probably go to one of my aforementioned favorite cupcakeries for dessert however because ALL DAY LONG I have been craving a cupcake.  But that shouldn't surprise anyone reading this.

After dinner I think we are just going to head home and watch our first NetFlix movie-The Blind Side.  I hear it's good but if it's not animated, we probably haven't seen it yet, so a Samantha-free night I thought would be perfect to bust it out.  Especially since it's a true story that happened in Memphis.  Interestingly enough, the Tuohys (the main family in the movie) used to live next door to some friends of Owen's family...I guess this is my round about claim to fame, kinda like 5 degrees of Kevin Bacon...

If I don't fall asleep during the movie, perhaps we will catch up on some DVR.  I still haven't seen this week's episode of Criminal Minds...

And if I can sleep uninterrupted for 7 hours, it will be a well-spent date night.  I know, sounds pretty boring huh :)
